RoZaMoMiHoY - Without Horses Knowledge - Zan Hoffman
RoZaMoMiHoY is from the era ('87) and features Roger Moneymaker, Minóy and myself. This one is demented and loopy, creating a symphony of cacophony.

Gunter Adler – The Silver Book - ep (ca058) - Gunter Adler
For some years I have been carrying a small silver book along with me. It serves as a note book for sketches, ideas, thoughts... These rarely are palpable or brought to conclusion. Thus they are not suited for any direct use. The silver book is an unlimited repository for inspiration, makes me feel contemplative or amuses me. At times I wonder whether somebody who comes across the book should be able to discover a use for it or might find some meaning in the nonsensical words and sentences...

Zanstones 7 - 40x40 - Zan Hoffman
The seventh tape "40 x 40" took longer than any other tape in my catalog to make. I commissioned everyone I was writing at the time to send me 40 second pieces to work with and I proceeded to make forty 40 second compositions figuring that the time restriction allowed for many small ideas to be presented that may not stand on their own for longer duration. The result is still what I consider brilliant after all these years...

Tube Alloys - Tube Alloys
Music labels are bombarded by demos, more than they possibly can ever listen to. Sometimes a few demos rise above the onslaught and demonstrate originality and hold your attention. But a small label can't release everything on a CD. So what does one do with the good music that one gets and can't afford to release? Tube Alloys is a project by Zan Hoffman (zh27.org) and Jeff Surak that combines, smelts, and delivers a new work derived from the best parts of some very good demos...

Joe Frawley - Ritual Research (ca195) - Joe Frawley
A daydreaming graduate student slips obliquely into a subconscious underworld of shifting identities in Joe Frawley's latest audio release, Ritual Research. Continuing his precedent of genre-defying sound compositions, this new work blends original piano music with found sounds and electronic processing to create protean, quasi-narrative structures. The juxtaposition of recontextualized speech samples with elements of music and sound effects results in an abstract cinema for the ear whereupon li...

Zanstones 12 - Fundamental Frequency Volume and Variety - Zan Hoffman
"FF; Volume and Variety" is unquestionably my most celebrated release. For many years it was my most distributed tape. It captures my techniques and compositional verve at a real high. This tape uses sounds and voices by E. Oliva, Robert Ommundsen, Robert I Gillham, Barry Edgar Pilcher, Fendrums, Het Zweet, and Dog as Master. I wish I could objectively describe this tape, but I've heard it so much it's impossible.

The Man Who Would PBKing - Zan Hoffman
Since his earliest networking days as Disco Splendor with Minoy, I have enthusasticly written, traded and collaborated with California artist Phillip B Klinger. This is my favorite early work with him. The title is a swipe at the Kipling (?) "Man Who Would Be King".

Creamy Porn Stars-21 Cranky Powerless Shalavas! - Creamy Porn Stars
Those Creamy Porn Stars! Loops and loops with loops and more loops. Yes, just what ZH27 was lacking was a project based entirely on loop music. I'm feeling better already. Starting in October 1997 I spent quite a bit of time sampling and looping recordings from my vast home-taper collaborative tapes...and when I get them going, just so, you'll be pleased at the result. 21 Cranky Powerless Shalavas! from October 2002 was recorded in the back of Artswatch in Louisville, KY before a Sapat show usin...

Girilal Baars - Litanies in Zero Kelvin (ca370) - Girilal Baars
Old folk songs have no need to be reinvented. They have no needs at all. But like our memories of the dead, we must resurrect them from time to time, because they cause us pleasure, dread or pain. The central theme of Litanies in Zero Kelvin is death, the final entropy state. Death has never held any intrinsic meaning to me. But there are bound to be some spiritual mysteries involved in any attempted rapprochement...

CD-R - Concentration - CD-R
CD-R is the noisey future of russian youth. With their ep "Concentration" the listener is submerged in a nocturnal corridor of machine hum with the only respite being a blast of radio static and lofi noise played at over saturated levels. Then CD-R goes beneath audible levels to further destroy your subconscious mind. A pleasant operation is guaranteed. "Project CD-R started in December 2002(Moscow) by Nikita Golyshev and Stas Bobkin...
